Project Timeline

The project is currently in the development stage,

In December 2022, the Town Hall Cultural Centre and Museum project was awarded a National Lottery Heritage Fund R1 Development Grant, allowing us to detail proposals for a project with total NLHF costs estimated at £9m.

The project has also received funding from Arts Council England, Cornwall and IOS Shared Prosperity Fund and Cornwall and IOS LEP.

We are working to the following timelines, with more specific dates to be confirmed in due course.

  • Contractor appointment November 2023

  • Possible start of enabling works on site (not confirmed) December 2023

  • Final funding applications November 2023

  • Final funding approvals February 2024

  • Start on site February 2024

  • Building core functions complete and open March 2025

  • Museum fit out complete and building fully open Winter 2025/6
