Accompanying Scilly schoolchildren to see WHITE HORSE on the mainland
Our Culture on Scilly team travelled to the mainland with students from Five Islands Academy this month to watch WHITE HORSE at the Regal Theatre in Redruth.
This new show from Simon Harvey at o-region used puppetry, live music, film and stage actors to tell Cornish tales based on the classic collection of stories from Michael Morpurgo, The White Horse of Zennor.
Pupils enjoyed a backstage tour and the chance to handle the puppets and explore the set.
Many islanders were involved in From the Horse's Mouth, a community project which helped with the research for this show, focused on storytelling in small communities and it was wonderful to show the school pupils what their contribution had helped to create.
